Head of Asset Optimisation (f/m)

• Leading Repower AGs' Asset Trading team (5 FTE).
• Commercial tasks:
  • Asset Trading: short term optimization of hydro asset park, leveraging all available products and markets: forward, spot, intraday, balancing, post-scheduling, capacity, etc.
  • Proprietary Trading: managing proprietary trading asset books, including cross-border activities, in line with allocated risk capital and limits allocated to meet Targets
• Operational tasks:
  • Oversee operational asset management in coordination with internal production department and other stakeholders (Swissgrid, clients, participations)
  • Manage Repower's balancing group
  • Coordinate and take part to On call service (Pikett)
• Relational:
  • Represent Repower in regular technical meetings on Asset participation ("Bekos") as well as fairs, conferences, and sectoral meetings
  • Liaise with other teams in trading department (Proprietary Trading, Market Intelligence, Back Office) as well as other internal stakeholders and clients
• Business Development:
  • Scout for new business opportunities, trading products and tools related to asset optimization. Monitor regulatory landscape

Your job

Your profile

• 5+ year experience in hydro asset management in a Senior Asset Trader or Head of Asset Trading (preferable) role
• Experience in continental power trading in markets related to asset optimization (from Futures to balancing). Knowledge of Swiss balancing markets preferred
• Strong analytical skills, flexible and resilient, self-starter
• Ability to interact with clients and providers
• Ability to adapt and improve processes according to business needs
• Availability to react in case of emergencies, also outside of office hours
• Native German or Italian speaker, knowledge of both languages is strongly preferred. Proficiency in English
• Academic degree in engineering, applied math, finance or economics
