For our customer based in New York are we looking for a

Manager Accounting (a)

This is a full-time position located in Lucerne. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate candidates who are comfortable traveling to our Lucerne office location at least 2 days a week.

The Manager Accounting will oversee the accounting and administration of the Company's two Swiss entities. The Manager is the accounting representative for the Company in German-speaking countries and would manage daily activities in all of the organization's accounting functions, including general accounting, T&E, accounts payable, Tax, and budgeting. This role will be a key member of the accounting department and continuously find ways to improve our global processes.

  • Verifies and pays invoices and employee expenses, executes check or payment runs reconciles balances, and maintains records
  • Sets up and maintains vendors in the accounting systems
  • Ensures transactions are timely and accurate, and that expenses are accurately coded and allocated
  • Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger or bank accounts on a regular basis; monitors cash position of the Swiss entities
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors or employees and will research and resolve concerns or discrepancies
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting
  • Reconciles and adjusts bank accounts to manage cash flow
  • Prepares operating budgets for our swiss entities based on actual performance, previous budget figures, expense reports, and other factors
  • Assists in the installation of budgetary control systems
  • Coordinates with the different audit and tax consultants
  • Assists in preparing local tax returns as well as VAT and other tax filings as needed

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or a similar education in accounting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Accounting concepts and principles
  • Ability to perform complex tasks following established processes
  • Experience with Netsuite and/or Concur is a plus
  • CPA or other accounting certification is a plus
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Mathematical skills
  • Strong accounting skills required
  • Highly skills in MS Excel / Word
  • Fluent in German and English required. Other languages are a plus
