Associate Scientist / Laborant in Particle Analytics 
Are you looking for a laboratory where you can learn a vast array of challenging, analytical techniques? In the technical development department you can use your expertise and understanding of proteins and peptides to perform routine analysis. You will use static- and dynamic light scattering, microscopy, flow imaging, capillary electrophoresis, HPLC and various other techniques. In addition there is the option to help programming reports and evaluation templates. You will get to work in many interesting projects within oncology and thus you play a valuable role in the treatment of cancer.
Your key responsibilities include:

  • Perform routine analysis of peptides and proteins, using light scattering, microscopy and various other techniques
  • Document findings and evaluate scientific results
  • Program laboratory reports using R (optional)
  • Maintain the laboratory instruments and equipment, as well as a clean and safe working environment
  • Work in compliance with other internal safety- and quality standards (HSE, SOPs)
  • Communicate openly and collaborate with team members

Your background includes:

  • Apprenticeship or university degree (BSc/MSc) in chemistry or biochemistry
  • Background in protein and peptide analytics is a must
  • Experience in light scattering OR microscopy OR flow imaging is a must
  • Ideally work experience in the pharmaceutical- or biotechnological industry
  • Team player, flexible personality, able to independently organize the work load
  • Interested in learning new analytical techniques and technical flair
  • Knowledge of programming language R is a plus
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English (German advantageous)

Contract duration: until the end of 2017 with a good chance for prolongation
