Head of Research & Development in Nursing (Professorship)
The ZHAW is one of the largest multidisciplinary universities of applied sciences in Switzerland, with more than 11,500 students and 3,000 faculty and staff.
The School of Health Professions is the largest and most well-known centre for training and continuing education in various health professions, such as occupational therapy, midwifery, nursing and physiotherapy, as well as for research in these fields. We aim to promote links between teaching and research.
The Institute of Nursing develops solutions to patient-care problems and to current and future challenges in healthcare. Our research group is involved in various projects with other universities, both in Switzerland and abroad, and with practice partners in health institutions and in community-based care. Our collaboration with other Schools within the ZHAW allows us to combine the distinct nursing perspective with those of other fields such as economics, life sciences, facility management and technology. Key research areas for our nursing research team are: family-centred care, acute care and rehabilitation, community-based integrated care and long-term care. The two latter areas were also key focus areas in the past. In future, we would like to develop an additional interdisciplinary research area concerning the care of children and young people. We would also like to strengthen interprofessional links between teaching and research.
All lecturers in the Master of Science Programme (MScN) are also part of the research team and develop their own research projects as project managers.
