Technical Account Manager (MACH)

MACH: Enterprise Services: Technical Account Manager (TAM)

In Microsoft Enterprise Services, we help businesses around the world to accelerate the business benefit derived from Microsoft products and technologies. Working with 60,000 partners worldwide on some of the largest and most complex technological challenges around, we provide technical consulting and support services to 54 million customers. Microsoft Services are at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions across the industry megatrends of Cloud, Social, Mobility, Big Data and Security.

They accompany the lifecycle of opportunities and the management of large and complex programs/projects as well as the support in ongoing operations for our enterprise customers.

Therefore the TAM demonstrates a mix of skills in delivery management, technology, and strategic business acumen. The role facilitates the deployment of solutions by mapping customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions including business- and technology decision maker discussions related to business value and solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leading engagements from conception to completion, which involves defining delivery scope and schedules, managing resources, delivery and governance, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Key accountabilities for the MACH TAM role are:

  • Delivers engagements within the constraints of schedule, features/functionality, and budget. Manages the work that must be done in order to deliver an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering.
  • Establishes a strategy and processes of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the delivery life cycle.
  • Stays involved in collecting conditions of the delivery relative to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality) as specified by the established plan.
  • As a trusted adviser who you become over time, you’ll ensure customers are making the most of their technology by creating a tailored service delivery plan to drive business value from the customer’s IT investments, and improve operational stability and performance.
  • Effectively communicates the realized value of delivered services through Service Reviews with the customer.
  • Develops and expands strategic customer relationships to grow Microsoft Enterprise Services coverage and ultimately the delivery and realization of its value.


  • University or college degree, Master graduate degree preferred
  • First work experience (jobs/internship)
  • Fluent English is essential. German is an advantage.
  • Strong affinity with solution delivery and business acumen.
  • Capable to have technical discussions with C-level
  • Basic knowledge about some Microsoft solutions (such as e.g. Azure, etc)
  • Able to translate the advantages of our solutions into business added value
  • Generate a high customer satisfaction
  • Strategic thinking about digital transformation (what will our clients demand in 2020?)
  • Problem solver with a strong drive for result and customer oriented.
  • Ability to influence people on different levels and to build a strong working relationship with peers outside of the department - the role requires close cooperation with the account sales team and delivery team.
  • Flexible, pro-active, structured and quality oriented mind-set.
